Samsung History
Samsung's history begins in 1938 where Lee Byung-Chull (1910-1987) comes from a family of large landowners in the area Uiryeong come to Daegu city and founded Samsung Sanghoe, a small trading company with forty employees located in Su-dong ( now Ingyo-dong). Enterprises in the wake Lee are progressing and it transfers its central office to Seoul in 1947. When breaking the Korean War, Lee was forced to leave Seoul and started refining sugar in Busan as a name of Cheil Jedang. After the war, in 1954, Lee founded Cheil Mojik and build factories in Chimsan-dong, Daegu as a wool factory.
